Golden Tee Apartments

Seattle, Washington

This project is located at the corner of a busy intersection in West Seattle with stunning views of a nearby golf course, Mt. Rainier and Downtown Seattle. Recently up-zoned in 2019, along with anticipated repairs to the West Seattle Bridge and upcoming light rail development, this area is ripe for fresh development. The project design mitigates steep site topography by setting into the hillside and creating a stage for social activity. New commercial spaces, a public plaza, and lush landscaping activate the ground floor creating a pedestrian and bike friendly street edge along Avalon Way. The upper-level massing is articulated through the application of durable materials, the arrangement of unit balconies and openings to create a lively urban response appropriate for the active streetscape. The new building will be named the Golden Tee Apartments after its predecessor. Inspiration for the building materials have been drawn from modern golf culture and the project’s proximity to the local West Seattle Golf Club. Themes of rich wood tones, iron, and gold set the mood for this 142-unit apartment building.

The project will seek LEED Gold Certification.
