The Downtown School: A Lakeside School

PUBLIC47 was invited to direct the renovation of McKay Chapel, a central, iconic building on the Lakeside School campus. The building is used by the music department and the improvements the acoustics of the main nave. The project includes new acoustic curtains, improved high-efficiency lighting and a new acoustic ceiling. The design maintains the look of the historic interior while modernizing its performance as a music performance and teaching space. The lower level includes upgraded practice rooms.
The project was completed during the summer of 2019.
