Pike Place Market Heritage Museum

Seattle, Washington

For his Master of Architecture thesis, Partner Scot Carr not only designed the Pike Place Market Heritage Center, he built the facility and fabricated  all the custom steel components and display systems.   The unique character of buildings in the Pike Place Market inspired the design – specifically the use of modest and durable materials, the casual relationship between interior and exterior spaces, and the embrace of the diurnal cycles of market buildings opening and closing. These concepts are integrated into a simple, yet refined pavilion where every detail is considered.
