Amara Headquarters

Seattle, Washington

Amara, a foster care agency, initially retained PUBLIC47 to analyze this site for potential purchase. Following on master planning work that verified the development potential of the site, and subsequent purchase, we undertook phase 1 – the creation of a new office headquarters for this local non-profit. This phase involved renovating the existing building, a former towing company office, and construction of a 2,500 sf connected addition with a new meeting room, lobby, and restrooms. The renovation involved exposing the existing structure, and the creation of naturally day-lit private offices, open office space, conference rooms, and a kitchen overlooking a new central courtyard.

PUBLIC47 is currently designing Phase 3, a new emergency sanctuary building for transitional care on site.

“PUBLIC47 helped us salvage a building that we thought was useless. Now, we’re back to have them help with Phase III of our campus plan. They are very talented, they are easy to work with, and they are humble.  In short, a delightful combination of skills and presence–and a tremendous partner. “
