Cristo Rey Seattle is a national Jesuit organization that started a new high school on the former St Paul site in south Seattle. PUBLIC47 led the project site selection committee and the master planning for the school development as it phases in new classes. The project included development of a future new chapel, new athletic facility, and a renovated rectory building house to house an Early Learning Center.
The new 21,000-sf high school building includes science labs and nine classrooms, wellness rooms, teacher offices and collaborative spaces. An amphitheater opens out to a new courtyard between the existing 1950s school and new classroom building. The building will constructed with a steel frame and CLT mass timber floor system.
